This was a question that I made myself before I came to Mexico.  How hard it is to leave everything for something that you don’t know?  This question was in my mind every single day especially when I was getting closer to Mexico and I always ask God why this things happen to me?  Leaving my country at 12 years old is not that simple, because my world was in Honduras and I was afraid to try a new world. But God taught me that he just wants the best for me and he would never do something that will hurt me or make me feel bad. So I learn that God always have control of my life and I trust him with all my heart

Romans on the Roof

I am now an OCS senior, and more than excited about it. In one semester I will be finished with high school and on to the next adventure. I can't wait- but I guess it is important that I enjoy the semester here in Oaxaca before I go off to England and the USA and wherever else God takes me.

To start of this fresh new year, I organized a girls' Bible Study moving through the book of Romans. Today was our first time meeting, and eight girls showed up. The study went great! Already we've had interesting conversations, moved deeper than the surface definition, and ate delicious cupcakes (made by me).

Now I just need to get through the rest of the semester without giving in to the pressures of senioritis. It shouldn't be too hard- and not having to go to school until 10:00 is definitely a plus.

7th Grade

Last year I was so freaked out for 7th because I didn't know what it was going to be like for me. Some people like Anna, Lisbeth, and Jackson were telling me that 7th grade was so hard and that 7th grade was going to be a big change for me. The night before school started I started to wonder, who will be my classmates and who will be my teachers, a lot of ideas were popping into my head. Finally school had started and before I knew it the first month had already passed. At the end of the year I thought to myself, "You know what, 7th wasn't that bad after all. "

PERU TRIP!

This summer I had the awesome opportunity to go on a short term missions trip to a little village in Peru called Jesus de Praga. It was such an uplifting experience and I learned so much every step of the way! The team I was part of was just perfect and all of us were individually chosen by God to go specifically on this trip. It was so cool to see how each one of us grew spiritually and closer to God!

We had many unforgettable moments together and we all go to know each other a lot better! We had to take a boat from the main city to the village and it only had one small motor. Instead of taking 6 hours (which was supposedly how long it took to get there) it took us 17 hours to get to Jesus de Praga and on the way back 32 because we were going against the current. It was insane! Also the boat's bathroom was a challenge because it was at the back of the boat, you had to go on top of the motor to get there, and it was very windy so the curtain flew everywhere. All you could do was pray that nobody saw you and that you wouldn't get your leg chopped off by the motor. Pretty tricky.

There were so many other incidents, but this was just one of all of them.
Finally in Peru!

My Family and I spent the summer working on our Spanish. The school we went to is near Puerto Escondido.

It is near Playa Roca Blanca, hence the name of the language school Roca Blanca.  The picture below was taken from a top of the hotel on the Mission Base where the school is located.

When I was in 7th grade, all the 8th graders were talking about how 8th was so hard and it got me really scared.   They would also say that you would not have time to do sports because it was soo much home work.  I was really scared to enter 8th grade :/ But now that I am in my 2nd week of 8th grade, I noticed that none of this was true.  I am getting homework, but I get it done easily and I have time to go to practice everyday for 2 hours.  I am also realizing that going in to 7th grade was a lot harder than going into 8th.  When I started 7th grade I was having 4 hours of homework a night!!! I want to encourage the future 7th graders to not be scared but to believe that you can do it!! :D
